I regularly speak people these days that are keen to move home, even in this current climate, but who all make the same mistakes time and time again...

They assume they'll have to pay a certain price for the home they want.

I regularly speak people these days that are keen to move home, even in this current climate, but who all make the same mistakes time and time again...

They assume they'll have to pay a certain price for the home they want.

It's not all their fault though.

The way many of the major property portals are structured to price bands, coupled with ever changing house prices, means they stand to miss out on the perfect home.

For example Rightmove.co.uk has price band widths of £25,000 once you search above £200,000, right now that's potentially a huge margin of error.

What would be far simpler is to search for a home based on certain criteria that you need to fulfill, such as Detached only, single or double garage, en suite facilities, size of garden and of course location, without any mention of price.

Well, we've found one! Try www.globrix.com which allows you to really fine tune your search and will constantly refine the results as you go until you have the type of home you're after within a minimum to maximum price range.

Imagine, for instance, you thought you wouldn't get what you wanted for less than £275,000 and there it is for £240,000!! Happy days! The added bonus is, if you're trying to sell, you then have more scope for negotiation on the price you need to achieve on your own property.

Happy hunting.
