I agreed a sale on a property for one of our sellers yesterday and as I looked out of my kitchen window I thought to myself how much this business has changed since I got into estate agency in 1986.
Back then we didn't have Broadband, E-mail, Rightmove.co.uk or, indeed, the world wide web!!
What we did have was a high street office, newspaper adverts and 'stunning' black and white photocopied particulars!
Thankfully the photocopied particulars went a long time ago, the newspapers are just about finished and now it seems to be the turn of the office!
Being able to effectively
As this particular seller said '' I'd rather save £3,165.45 in estate agents fees than be able to come and see you in your office ''. ( I took this in the spirit in which it was intended!! ).
As they had already met me in the comfort of their own home at a time that suited them, they had a valid point. If they really needed to see me in person then I would simply visit them again.
So, I've now got an office that buyers don't need and sellers would rather not visit!
Hmmmmm.

Well having just started up an Estate Agency working from home I would have to agree with you. I can sell any property anywhere for only £995 + Vat - The high street is shop is definatly dead and the newspapers will follow shortly. Giles Estates 01394 36 66 66
